TIG Global is a leading digital media advertising company. It creates and manages websites for hundreds of different five star hotel properties including Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts, Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts, The Sherry-Netherland Hotel (San Francisco), and The Sir Francis Drake Hotel (New York).
Due to rapid growth in the number of sites developed for its many hotel clients, TIG needed help performing website functional tests. The tests had to be conducted thoroughly and professionally, they had to be completed in a short time period, and they had to be affordable without compromising quality. TIG had a set testing budget and required a commitment to a fixed price structure. They also required testing to verify website functionality when accessed by a variety of mobile devices.
After a successful pilot test, TIG decided to have QualiTest perform its hotel website testing services. The testing for each site included:
Qualitest, being a leading supplier of onshore outsourced software testing and QA services, performs these services at a customer’s location or at one of Qualitest’s Test Centers. In TIG’s case, the decision was made to conduct the testing from a Qualitest Test Center with a team ranging from one to five software test professionals. The team size was adjusted up and down to accommodate TIG’s fluctuating test requirements and to guaranty TIG’s schedules were met. The Qualitest team applied its expertise in the Exploratory Testing Approach to test thoroughly yet efficiently. This made it possible to offer TIG very competitive pricing. QualiTest also provided test and defect management tools as well as a variety of mobile devices for this project at no charge to the client. Qualitest has access to more than 200 different mobile and tablet devices to test a wide variety of configurations.
The Qualitest on-shore solution exceeded TIG’s requirements for professional independent testing at a pre-established affordable price. The Qualitest team was able to complete the functional tests for each site on schedule. In fact, the average time to test a particular site varied from one to three days depending on the site’s size. Over a one month period, more than 20 sites were tested. In addition, by conducting the testing from a Qualitest Test Center, test resources could quickly ramp up or down to respond to changing customer requirements. Qualitest’s ability to provide the equipment and expertise to verify website functionality on various mobile devices such as iPhones, Android phones, and iPads was another important benefit.
