Meet Archit Gupta from North Carolina, USA. Once a nationally-ranked jazz guitarist, he is now fusing his musical roots with a passion for artificial intelligence.
Archit, a participant in Qualitest’s Internship Program, recognizes his prime attribute as drawing strength from those who surround him. Throughout his journey, Archit has been fortunate to have inspirational figures to look up to. These vital connections continue to motivate him as he relentlessly strives to become the best version of himself.
Archit specializes primarily in artificial intelligence, encompassing an array of domains including deep learning, natural language processing, image classification, and neural networks. His skill set also extends to user interface development and he has a good level of familiarity with Selenium.
Even though Archit has only had two years of experience at the university, the coursework has provided him with enough of a foundation to keep his head above water in the fast-paced work environment. Some of the most important skills he has learned in school include low-level programming, basic computer logic, and how to use Version Control.
Aside from the coursework, the school has also taught him time management, how to work with others, and the importance of deadlines, all of which have helped him during his internship.
“The Qualitest intern program? Oh, that’s my constant bragging point,” says Archit. “The atmosphere, the people, the learning curve, and the deadlines – they’re a mirror image of what you’d encounter in the real working world.”
Asked about his favorite aspect of the program, Archit responds, “You’re not just another intern or a mere student here! You’re treated as a valued employee. What sets Qualitest apart is their unshakable faith in us interns and our capabilities.”
Archit’s choice to pursue a career in software testing boils down to a few key reasons, but the biggest one is the vital role testing plays in creating a solid product. “It’s not just about tech – think of a vaccine being used without proper testing,” says Archit, emphasizing his belief that testing is equally, if not more, important than the actual development phase.
“Testing isn’t just a step; it’s what makes sure things work as they should.” This belief is what keeps him motivated to stick with a testing career.
“My journey at Qualitest started a year ago,” shares Archit as he looks back to the time, he first joined the internship program. “When I first joined Qualitest, I had no idea I would be working on the kind of things that I am currently on. I went from learning the basics of machine learning to implementing complex AI techniques for high-profile clients.”
Archit looks back at the progress he has made in one year. “I am grateful to be interning at a company with people who are always willing to help you learn. My journey is far from over, and I look forward to making more memories and learning great things here at Qualitest!”
“There are so many perks to pursuing a career in IT,” Archit explains. “The field has great pay due to the high demand for skilled people. And with the constant evolution of technology, learning remains ongoing. A great example of this is the use of OpenAI in numerous applications, including some you might never have considered, like Snapchat! Job security is also a significant perk, given the integral role technology plays in modern society.”
Archit shares that a career in technology also provides him with diverse career paths and gives him the opportunity to try his hand at different specializations.
“Flexibility is another huge perk! The global nature of IT also opens doors to international opportunities and connections. All these points combined helped convince me to take the leap of faith into the ever-growing field of technology!”
Archit is passionate about music. In addition to the guitar, he plays 14 other instruments, such as drums, piano, saxophone, clarinet, and bass. He produces his own music using a software called DAW, which combines his physical instruments with electronic drums and synthesizers.
In addition to his musical interests, he enjoys building computers and working with PC hardware. “I recently completed a second computer build, which features a powerful component called an NVIDIA RTX 3090, ideal for 3D rendering and game development,” he shares.
Archit also enjoys playing video games with friends. Some of his favorite games include Fortnite, Valorant, and Madden!”
When asked about his favorite books, Archit says he can’t help but mention the classic “Harry Potter” series by J.K. Rowling! “The magical world of wizards, spells, and adventure captivated me when I was a kid back in elementary school.”
When asked about his favorite podcast, Archit says he enjoys doing marathon listening sessions of The Joe Rogan Experience. “It is an amazing talk show with a wide range of guests, engaging discussions, and Joe Rogan’s unfiltered style.”
