Erick is incredibly passionate about his work in People and Talent (P&T) and loves learning about different countries from around the world. Drawing from more than 8 years in Human Resources (HR), he possesses a unique talent for helping people address and solve their daily challenges.
When asked about the influence of his university education on his career, Erick emphasizes the significant role it played, particularly in his role focused on People and Talent. He says, “My MBA and Human Resources diploma have been invaluable in preparing me for my current position.”
Erick shares that IT companies offer immense opportunities, which is why he was drawn to a career in IT. He has had the pleasure of meeting and working with exceptionally talented individuals from different backgrounds and cultures throughout his journey.
Erick expresses that his experience at Qualitest has been truly remarkable. “I am grateful to the Mexican Team,” he says, “and the People Experience Team for their unwavering and exceptional support.”
Erick’s advice is to start by accepting yourself. “Self-acceptance is the first and most important step,” he says, “acceptance from family, friends, and society comes second. Remember, if you don’t love and accept yourself, nobody else will!”
Erick talks about his coming out journey. “Today I am a proud member of the LGBT+ community. In the beginning, though, it was slightly more challenging. First, I had to deal with my apprehensions about coming out to my closest friends. Contrary to my fears, though, everyone was very accepting of me. Over the last few years, I have been pleasantly surprised by my family, who have accepted me without judgment and have given me all the love and support I need.”
Erick expresses his pride in being a part of an organization that champions and supports initiatives promoting diversity and inclusion. He says, “It’s heartening to be a part of an organization that embraces diversity in all its forms.”
Erick’s deep affection centers on his family, particularly his parents and his niece, who was born in 2022.
Erick enjoys going to the movies, and recently, he has taken up a new interest in fitness, particularly calisthenics.
When asked about leaders who have inspired him, Erick shares that he has encountered several individuals in his life who have assumed leadership roles, all of whom have, in some way, taught and inspired him on his own journey.
When it comes to books, Erick recommends ‘Frankenstein’ by Mary Shelley and ‘The Art of War’ by Sun Tzu. Erick also enjoys listening to podcasts related to history, both global and Mexican.
