A passionate and highly competent Qualitester from India, Subhash is one of our expert accessibility testing architects. With unwavering motivation, Subhash provides training, guidance, and direction to team members and clients, with a deep sense of involvement in each project.
Subhash is a certified professional in accessibility, holding the esteemed CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies) certification from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP). With a primary focus on digital accessibility, he excels in ensuring compliance with industry standards such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), section 508, and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act).
Subhash is proficient in languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ARIA, and C++. and is well-versed in working with popular screen readers like JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and Talkback.
Subhash started his career in 2011 when he joined the accessibility division at QA InfoTech (prior to its association with Qualitest).
Reflecting on the beginnings of his accessibility journey, he recalls, “It’s fascinating to think that my colleague and I were among the first to be recruited for the accessibility project in the industry. As a relatively new field for all of us, we dedicated ourselves to working tirelessly, ensuring we remained at the forefront of digital accessibility services. With unwavering support from our team leads and management, we swiftly built a formidable team that attracted several clients seeking accessibility solutions.”
Today, Subhash and his accomplished team of over fifty engineers deliver exceptional accessibility services to numerous clients.
Subhash urges future Qualitesters to embrace a mindset of continuous learning and adaptability. He advises, “In this rapidly evolving technological landscape, do not confine yourself to a single skill. Instead, be open, willing, and eager to acquire new, in-demand skills.”
Recognizing the transient nature of technology, Subhash emphasizes the importance of understanding product requirements thoroughly, cautioning against hasty conclusions that could lead to errors. He adds, “Take the time to analyze and comprehend the needs and demands, as being hasty can prove costly.”
When asked about the biggest perk of choosing a career in IT, Subhash provides two major advantages: continuous learning opportunities for professional growth and economic stability.
Beyond work, Subhash is passionate about music, playing chess, traveling, and engaging in intellectual conversations.
Being mindful of how human thoughts are shaped by perception, Subhash is committed to changing society’s perception of individuals with disabilities through actions that challenge expectations. One example is his adept use of Google Maps navigation during travels, which not only aids in tracking his location but also enlightens others about the effective use of map services by visually impaired individuals.
“I do not necessarily believe that a person with disabilities needs special sympathetic treatment,” Subhash expresses. “Instead, there should be an equal treatment that is empathetic. In society, there are prevalent stereotypes surrounding disabilities. Some perceive individuals with disabilities as helpless, requiring special assistance in every situation, while others attribute exceptional abilities, such as a sixth sense.”
Subhash chooses not to blame people for such thoughts and remarks, acknowledging their lack of awareness regarding the unique strengths and weaknesses that each person possesses, differentiating us from one another.
Subhash is actively involved in social programs aimed at providing financial support to others, reflecting his belief in mutual co-existence and cooperation. He finds joy in spending quality time with his family, friends, and church members.
That’s Subhash for you, a person deeply involved in inclusivity and accessibility, a music lover, and a dedicated professional. When he’s not busy working, you can find him playing chess or immersed in reading books from his favorite genres – autobiographies, scientific discoveries, and religious texts.
