Qualitest Group, a global leader in Quality Assurance and Software Testing services, has been handling the implementation and validation of Ministry Health Care’s EHR systems for the past 3 years.
The experience gained over this period of time shows that improving the test process by using outside testing experts not only improved the quality of their EHR, but also saved them money. Before using Qualitest testing services, Ministry relayed on analysts and consultants. As a strategic decision to take control and responsibility for their EHR’s quality and its compatibility to various requirements, Ministry decided to use Qualitest services for validation. Outsourcing the responsibility for validation was a challenging process for the company. But when using systems, such as EHR, that human life relay on, thorough testing that assures high quality is a must. “Using an outside testing company required changing our mindset, which wasn’t easy. We now know that we could not have continued our work without implementing a structured testing discipline. Qualitest had become imperative to our team,” said Will Weider – CIO at Ministry Health Care.
Qualitest enabled having a better product, fixing defects early in the process and reducing the risks of using their EHR, which greatly reduced testing costs. “With the prices Qualitest offered us, conducting a structured testing process ended up saving us money” said Dr. Sanderson, Director of Medical Information at Ministry Health Care. “The investments in testing, which allow us to find system defects early in the process and ensure our EHR cannot be easily broken, is cheaper than the alternative,” he explained.
Qualitest currently employs 30 testing engineers at Ministry’s offices. Due to new projects scheduled to start in the near future, this number will double by the end of the year.
